Wexford manager David Power has accused Antrim of "thuggery" during the counties' national football league meeting on Sunday.

The Saffrons recorded a 1-8 to 0-7 Division Four victory over the Model County in Belfast on Sunday but the losing manager feels that the northerners overstepped the mark in terms of physicality.

"Antrim's physicality took the game to another extreme," Power is quoted in The Irish Examiner. "There was a stamping incident, punch in the face, and clothesline offence. I'm not making excuses, but this is not football, it's thuggery."

Antrim manager Frankie Fitzsimons countered that the claim "does not even warrant a response".
