Kilkenny star Walter Walsh was put on the spot at the launch of the Allianz Hurling Leagues in Croke Park today.

Asked the question: what are the secrets to their success, he answered: "We just go training, we work hard and we all get on very well together.

"It's enjoyable for us. I think that's the secret to it and, obviously, Brian Cody and the management are very good at the training we do.

"I think it just comes down to training hard and enjoying the game and that's what we do in Kilkenny."

The Tullogher Rosbercon clubman is looking forward to this weekend's first round clash against neighbours Waterford.

"After the success of last year, winning the All-Ireland, it's good to get back training now.

"The winter actually flew by. We're really looking forward to our first game against Waterford on Sunday.

"It should be a very tough test."
