Fermanagh 0-10

Meath 0-6

Fermanagh banked their first brace of points in Division 2 after kicking five unanswered points in the second half to break 14-man Meath's resistance at Brewster Park.

When Sean Tobin's free put them 0-6 to 0-5 ahead 15 minutes into the second half, it looked like the Royals - who had Andrew Tormey sent off in the 23rd minute - were on course for their second win of the campaign against Ulster opposition, but the hosts remained composed as the accurate free-taking of Tomas Corrigan saw them to victory.

Eoin Donnelly's long-range effort gave the Erne County the lead after just 10 seconds, but Meath hit back with frees from Mickey Newman and Tobin before Aidan Breen levelled in the 15th minute. Cillian O'Sullivan restored the visitors' lead, but they were rocked by midfielder Tormey's dismissal for a yellow card, followed by a black.

Sean Quigley then took centre stage with a trio of points to leave Pete McGrath's men 0-5 to 0-3 in front at the break.

With the wind to their backs, Meath grabbed the first three points of the second half, but they failed to score in the last 20 minutes as Fermanagh took control.

Tomas Corrigan took over the free-taking from Quigley and was successful from four placed balls. Barry Mulrone applied the coup de grace in added time as last year's All-Ireland SFC quarter-finalists put the disappointment of last weekend's first round defeat to Derry behind them.
