Kildare forward Daniel Flynn is anticipating another battle when the Lilywhites welcome Offaly to Newbridge on Sunday.

Cian O'Neill's men were made come through a stiff test against Westmeath in their National League opener last weekend and Flynn, who struck a wonder goal against the Lake men (which can be viewed here), says they're in for another tough encounter against the Midlanders.

"People expect us to just climb straight back up. And it won't be easy at all," Flynn told the Irish Examiner.

"There's some very good sides in Division Three, and this time of year, the weather conditions, it's very different kind of football in Division Three. Offaly next weekend, after getting a win, that will be another battle in Newbridge."

A native of Johnstownbridge, which is a stone's throw from the Faithful County, Flynn is hoping that Kildare will be boasting the bagging rights this weekend.

"There are a lot of us Johnstown lads would have gone to school with a lot of the Offaly boys. We'd know them well so there's a bit of a rivalry going," he said.

Throw-in at St Conleth's Park is at 2pm.
