Fermanagh manager Pete McGrath has thrown down the gauntlet to his players ahead of the 'must win' game against Meath on Sunday.

The sides clash in round two of Division 2 in Brewster Park and following the defeat to Derry last weekend, the Ernesiders need a win to keep their promotion hopes alive.

McGrath feels that there were lessons to be learned from the defeat to Derry and he stressed to the Fermanagh Herald that they needed to learn from their mistakes.

"The game against Meath is a must-win game and that's it," said McGrath. "We were unbeaten at home last year and this is now potentially a season defining game.

"It's a game where I'm confident that if we get the right response after last Sunday, we can win. But we just have to get our heads around that first, learn the serious lessons and get back the confidence, the energy and all those things that were so obvious last year. We need all of those channelled into the weekend's game."
