Wexford forward Paul Morris looks set to miss the National League opener on Saturday week due to a hamstring injury.

Morris was forced to withdraw from the Walsh Cup final defeat to Dublin after just ten minutes due to a recurrence of the injury which had kept him out of action for the previous three weeks.

The Fern St Aidan's clubman now joins Conor McDonald on the treatment table and manager Liam Dunne told the Wexford People that Morris will definitely miss the league opener.

"Paul felt the hamstring go early on and came out of the game. It's a recurrence of the injury which will now see him miss the Limerick game. He will undergo intensive treatment but time seems against him," said Dunne.

"Conor is having a further plaster put on his broken thumb this Tuesday. It will be on for four weeks, so that will rule him out of a considerable portion of the league."
