Lee Keegan will lead out Mayo for their first game of the FL Division 1 campaign against Cork at Pairc Ui Rinn on Sunday.

With no captain for the season appointed yet, Westport man Keegan has been chosen as skipper for the day as manager Stephen Rochford names a mixture of youth and experience for the trip down south.

There are nine survivors from the starting fifteen that lined out in last year's replayed All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin.

Robbie Hennelly, Ger Cafferkey, Lee Keegan, Tom Parsons, Kevin McLoughlin, Aidan O'Shea, Diarmuid O'Connor, Donal Vaughan and Jason Doherty are the players who retain their place from last September.

The Connacht kingpins welcome back talisman Aidan O'Shea and Young Footballer of the Year Diarmuid O'Connor but are still without a host of regulars.

Mayo (NFL v Cork): Robbie Hennelly; Brendan Harrison, Ger Cafferkey, Shane McHale; Lee Keegan, Caolan Crowe, Shane Nally; Tom Parsons, Jason Gibbons; Kevin McLoughlin, Aidan O'Shea, Diarmuid O'Connor; Evan Regan, Donal Vaughan, Jason Doherty.
