Clare continued their winning ways with victory over Limerick in tonight's Munster SHL final at the Gaelic Grounds.

A brace of points from substitute Cathal O'Connor in the last three minutes edged the Banner over the line with their noses in front.

As is the norm when these two neighbours meet, no quarter was asked or given and both teams deserve credit for the entertainment they served up in front of 4,753 supporters.

Limerick drew first blood with Paul Browne finding the target but Clare finished the first-half strongly with three unanswered points to take a 0-12 to 0-10 lead into the break.

Both teams were guilty of some poor shooting as the game progressed but extra-time looked a distinct possibility after Limerick overturned a four point deficit to regain parity entering the closing stages.

As events panned out, O'Connor's contribution off the bench proved to be the difference between the sides at the final whistle.
