McGeeney critical of Armagh performance

Kieran McGeeney admits there is a lot for his Armagh side to improve on over the coming weeks.

Armagh fell to their second defeat in three games last night in the McKenna Cup after Ronan McNamee's late point handed UUJ a 2-7 to 1-9 win at the Athletic Grounds.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph afterwards, McGeeney did not pull any punches in critiquing his team's performance.

"We are short on defenders and it showed," said the former All-Ireland winning captain.

"We gave away a soft early goal and our shot selection was not good. We had enough chances, we just did not take them.

"We are giving away too many goals and we have a lot of hard work to do to improve."
