Padraig Farrell is expected to take the Offaly U21 football reins after last week's farce which saw Declan Kelly step down from the role less than 24 hours after his appointment was ratified - because he hadn't agreed to become manager in the first place!
Kelly and his selectors Benny O'Brien and David Connolly hadn't given their consent to be put forward for ratification at a county board meeting, but the controversy now looks to be drawing to a close with the news that Tubber man Farrell is set to fill the vacancy.
Senior manager Pat Flanagan spoke this week of his disappointment at not being retained as U21 boss, having been informed in September that a separate manager was being sought.
