Ballyboden St. Enda's manager Andy McEntee is hopeful that Paul Durcan will be available for Sunday week's Leinster club SFC final against Portlaoise.

The Donegal All-Ireland winning goalkeeper returned form Qatar, where he and his wife are now based, for yesterday's semi-final win over St. Loman's and justified his inclusion by making a crucial save to deny David Windsor when the game was still in the melting pot. Durcan, who had missed the quarter-final victory over St. Pat's of Louth, left for Dublin Airport immediately after the final whistle.

"He bloody well better be back for the final!" McEntee remarked in the Irish Independent.

"He's under pressure, but we hope to have him back. He's huge for us. He's got a calm head, he sees things others don't."

Looking ahead to the final in Tullamore, McEntee added: "Portlaoise will have an edge in experience, but we haven't even thought about them yet."
