Fermanagh boss Pete McGrath feels that his team are fully capable of securing league promotion to Division One next season.

The Rostrevor man was speaking after the fixtures for the 2016 Allianz National Football League were released yesterday, which will see the Erne men travelling to Derry on January 31 for their Division Two opener after securing promotion from the third tier this year.

McGrath's side have four home games out of the remaining six after that, finishing off against Tyrone at Brewster Park, where he hopes his team will still be in contention for back-to-back promotions.

"Whenever any team sits down in pre-season and maps out the road ahead, you have to be honest, positive, and ambitious. If we happen to get something out of every game then we could get promoted," McGrath told The Irish News.

"Promotion is not beyond us, given all the fine qualities I saw in the players, the spirit, the character, the work rate, all those things. If all those are obvious in every game we play then I think promotion is something we could talk very positively about.

"At this point it would be tremendous to really focus our sights high, and go into the League confidently and determined to do our very best - and see how far it takes us."
