Masters final to be broadcast on Irish TV this Saturday

The Gaelic Masters Association football final between Galway and Tyrone will be broadcast live to a global audience on Irish TV this Saturday, November 7th.

IRISH TV will provide exclusive coverage of the IRISH TV Gaelic Masters final and the Masters Shield final live from 1pm

The Masters final, which will be played in Fr. Manning Gaels Club, Monaduff, Drumlish, Co. Longford, will be broadcast live for the second year in a row on IRISH TV from 1pm on SKY 191, Freesat 400, Eircom's eVision 191 and online at www.irishtv.ie/live

Sports journalist, Oisin Langan will present the IRISH TV Gaelic Masters final programme and will be joined by Jim Carney.

Galway are looking to make it four in a row on Saturday while Tyrone has never won the competition to date. Tyrone Masters progressed to the IRISH TV Gaelic Masters final with a 2-11 to 1-10 win over Cavan in a hard fought encounter at Truagh, Co. Westmeath on October 24th.

Westmeath and Monaghan will also line out on the day in the Masters Shield final, which will also be broadcast live on the programme. Westmeath progressed to the Shield Masters final with a 1-17 to 1-13 (replay) win over Antrim last Saturday.

Westmeath face Monaghan at 1.15pm, followed by the final between Galway and Tyrone at 3.15pm.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing," said Chairperson of the Gaelic Masters Association, John Pat Sheridan.

"We are delighted to be working with Irish TV again this year as they understand our ethos, aims and passion for football. The Gaelic Masters like Irish TV is growing in popularity every year."

The Gaelic Masters is a competitive inter-county tournament for footballers over 40 to compete after their sporting careers have come to an end.

The competition has seen some great players' line out for previous tournaments including former Footballer of the Year Peter Canavan, former Mayo All-Star Kenneth Mortimer and Dublin legend Joe McNally.
