Liam Kearns will return to inter-county football management with Tipperary next season.
The Irish Times is reporting that the Tralee man is set to be confirmed as Peter Creedon's successor this week. Kearns previously managed Limerick and Laois and was part of former Roscommon manager John Evans' backroom team this year.
During his six years in charge of Limerick, he was unlucky to loss Munster finals to Kerry in 2003 and 2004. Before becoming senior manager, he led the Treaty County to a surprise All-Ireland U21 final appearance against Tyrone in 2000. More recently, he acted as a mentor to 'celebrity managers' on RTE's Celebrity Bainisteoir programme.
Kearns' appointment will be ratified at a county board meeting on Thursday night with speculation that former Tipperary and Kildare defender Brian Lacey and ex-Tipp goalkeeper Paul Fitzgerald will be his selectors.
