Dublin have decided not to appeal Philly McMahon's one-match ban.
After reviewing video footage, the Central Hearings Committee last night upheld the defender's proposed suspension after he made contact with Kerry captain Kieran Donaghy's face during the course of this year's All-Ireland SFC final.
Dublin County Board has decided not to appeal the confirmed suspension, which will see their all-action defender sit out the double winners' NFL Division 1 opener - ironically against Kerry - in Croke Park on January 30th.
In the wake of last month's Sam Maguire Cup decider, McMahon pleaded his innocence while Donaghy also called for no further action to be taken.
However, the Ballymun Kickhams clubman had a one-match penalty proposed by the Central Competitions Control Committee on the back of video evidence.
He sought a hearing, which took place in Croke Park last night. The CHC reviewed footage of the alleged incident and ruled that the ban should stand. Dublin and McMahon have decided not to take the matter any further.
