The Fermanagh SFC and U16 finals scheduled for tomorrow have both been called off following a death in the Derrygonnelly Harps club.

The county final, which will see Derrygonnelly challenge holders Roslea, was fixed for Brewster Park at 3.30pm but it has been postponed as "a mark of respect" following the untimely death of Damian McGovern, Youth Chairperson and Minor manager of the Derrygonnelly Harps Club.

It is understood that Mr McGovern, who was in his forties, was killed in a workplace accident.

A statement issued by the County Board reads: "We extend our deepest sympathy to Damian's wife Leeanne and children, as well as the entire McGovern and McGinley families.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all at the Derrygonnelly Harps club at this extremely difficult time and as they try to come to terms with this huge loss.

"Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal."
