Philip Jordan expects his Moy club-mate Colm Cavanagh to win his first All Star award next month.

The younger Cavanagh was outstanding in the sweeper role as Tyrone reached the All-Ireland semi-finals after recovering from an early Ulster SFC exit at the hands of Donegal. If Cavanagh is honoured at the All Stars banquet on November 6, he will bring an 11th All Star to Moy, with Sean Cavanagh - who is also nominated - being a five-time winner, Jordan a four-time winner and Plunkett Donaghy a winner in 1986.

"Colm doesn't really get the recognition in some of the media that he deserves," Jordan noted in the Irish News.

"Around Ulster he gets a lot of respect, but the Kerry and Dublin midfielders have a much higher profile and that's something Colm has to compete against.

"I think anyone who has seen Tyrone over the last few years knows how vital Colm is to the Tyrone team and his performances this year took him to another level. I don't know whether he'll get an All Star or not, but certainly in my opinion he's one of the best two midfielders this year."
