Down champions Ballycran will have to plan without captain Michael Ennis for their Ulster club SHC semi-final against Derry counterparts Slaughtneil.

The Irish News today confirmed that that the knee injury Ennis suffered 18 minutes into Ballycran's Down SHC final was a cruciate damage, which will see him side-lined until 2016.

Ballycran secured a 1-15 to 0-16 victory over Ballygalget on Sunday to secure their first title since 2011, setting up a provincial semi-final clash with the Oak Leaf County champions in Newry on October 11.
