A GAA clubhouse in Co. Tyrone has been extensively damaged in a suspected arson attack.

The Tir Na nOg clubhouse in Moy was petrol-bombed between 10.30 last night and 8.30 this morning. It's believed that a window was broken and flammable liquid poured inside and set alight.

Moy chairman Peter McKearney told the BBC:"It's caused extensive damage to the bottom of the property and smoke damage throughout. There's never been any trouble at this club in a long, long time - all through the Troubles there's been no issues."

Sinn Fin MLA Bronwyn McGahan believes the attack was sectarian

"I am calling on unionist leaders to stand shoulder to shoulder with my party in condemnation of [the attack].Unionists need to reach out to the GAA if we are to halt these attacks," she said.

Moy is the club of the Cavanagh brothers, Sean and Colm, and their former county team-mate Philip Jordan.
