Republic of Ireland soccer star James McClean has made a very kind gesture to his local GAA club.
The controversial West Brom winger is sponsoring a set of jerseys for the Sean Dolan's club in Derry city. The sponsorship comes as a welcome boost to the Creggan-based club who have been rebuilding their facilities since their clubhouse was destroyed by fire nearly four years ago.
Club member Danny Cassidy said in the Derry Daily: "James McClean, a true son of Creggan, has agreed to sponsor a new senior rig for Sean Dolans. James is a credit to the Creggan area and is a real friend of Sean Dolans GAC.
"It makes our task of rebuilding the club a hell of a lot easier when we have the likes of James to support us."
