Former Donegal star Rory Kavanagh is bringing out a book in time for the lucrative Christmas market.

The St. Eunan's clubman's autobiography, 'Winning', will be on sale from October 7. Kavanagh, who helped Donegal Boston to a North-East SFC title in the States last night, was a stalwart of the Donegal team from 2002 to 2014, during which he won All-Ireland, Ulster and Allianz League honours.

The book is ghost-written by Liam Hayes, a former All-Ireland winner himself with Meath, with Alan Foley of Donegal Sport Hub as researcher. Hero Books will print the autobiography.

"Rory Kavanagh was at the heart of the Donegal team that changed Gaelic football forever as they marched to the 2012 All-Ireland title.

"In 'Winning', Kavanagh tells exactly how Donegal, under Jim McGuinness' management, transformed from being the 'party boys' in the game, to a team with an iron discipline and a desire to win that was simply overpowering," the book's synopsis reads.
