Tipperary minor football captain Stephen Quirke is hoping to play some part in Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final against Kildare.

Quirke has missed the majority of both Tipperary minor hurling and football campaigns as he is one of eight dual players involved in both squads.

The talented midfielder damaged his knee earlier in the year, but rehab has been going well and there's an outside chance he could feature in some capacity this weekend.

"I have been doing all the rehab that the physios have been asking me to do, but there is always the risk of doing too much too soon, especially when you are mad to get back playing," Quirke told the Tipperary Star. "I have missed a lot of hurling and football."

Quirke is joined on the injured list at the moment by Brendan Martin who injured his thumb in the All-Ireland MFC quarterfinal win over Galway.
