Harte: Tyrone in a better place than '13

Mickey Harte feels Tyrone are stronger than two years ago when they last appeared in an All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

The Red Hands were well beaten by Mayo on that occasion, but with members of this year's All-Ireland U21 winning team beginning to make their presence felt, Harte expects them to give a better account of themselves against Kerry on Sunday week.

The long-serving manager said in the Irish News: "Potentially, I think we are in a better place [than 2013] in that there is more of a transition taking place within the team and more of the players are on the right side of 25 for energy than there was that time.

"So I think that has to be positive, and we've still got quite a bit of experience in there as well. Maybe the blend, the mix is better than it was then. That can only be good.

"You now have players coming through who have won an All-Ireland, so it's not only the satisfaction of that, but the confidence that comes with it which has been very evident from the players who have come in and I think it brings a new lease of energy, a new lease of life to the players who were there for quite a few years."
