Waterford are confident that Noel Connors will be fit for tomorrow week's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Kilkenny.

The experienced corner back was forced to retire with a dead leg during the first half of last Sunday's quarter-final win over Dublin and has been receiving cryotheraphy treatment since in a bid to face the Cats.

"It looks like it's going to clear up," Deise manager Derek McGrath told The42 website at yesterday's press briefing.

"He hasn't trained properly yet, he did a light bit of running Thursday night and we're training again Friday evening so we're hopeful he'll do something.

"He won't be in contact until next Tuesday, if you like, but we're very optimistic that he'll be ready."

Waterford will have a full deck to pick from, with the exception of broken leg victim Pauric Mahony.
