Former Westmeath manager Luke Dempsey is adamant that the Midlanders must concentrate on their own game and not worry about Dublin's prowess.
Sunday's Leinster SFC final is a real David v. Goliath clash as the Dubs are overwhelming favourites to win their ninth provincial title in ten years.
Much has been made of the strength of Dublin, but Dempsey told the Westmeath Examiner that Tom Cribbin's charges need to focus on what they must do and not the status of the opposition.
"I think we have to approach it in a vacuum," the current St Loman's manager said. "The only people who can dictate how we get on are ourselves. We have to look at this as a final, a once-off and not really care about the reputation of the opposition.
"I think we need to keep Kieran Martin up between 10 and 15. He's too good to have coming up from centre-half to get a goal. I wouldn't care if it left us exposed at the back; we need to take chances and go on our strengths.
"I'd probably start him in a two-man full forward line or at 11, and see how your defence would stack up without him. Jamie Gonoud tightened up on McMahon when he came into the game. Paul Sharry was a great link man between defence and midfield, and Ray Connellan showed great prowess when operating in the middle as well.
"Every player out there will have to up their work rate by 20 percent, over the course of the 70 minutes. They were too static and lateral in the first half against Meath; they need to move the ball fast, have a huge work ethic, no fear, and make full use of John Heslin and Kieran Martin, who are a lethal double act."
