Tipperary midfielder George Hannigan has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury.
The 28-year-old sustained the injury during the first half of the Premier County's Munster SFC semi-final defeat to Kerry in Thurles last month and had to be substituted at half time.
He'd been enjoying a solid season in the Tipp engine-room and is a big loss for this weekend's second-round SF Qualifier against Louth.
The Shannon Rovers clubman could be sidelined until January. Selector Mick O'Loughlin confirmed to The Irish Times: "George is a huge loss and had been playing very well this year. People could see that when he went off against Kerry, we started to lose the midfield battle."
