Former Tyrone underage star Conor McKenna earned rave reviews for his performance for the Essendon reserves at the weekend.
The 19-year-old scored a hat-trick of goals in Essendon's defeat to Williamstown in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It was his most eye-catching performance since signing for the AFL club in October 2014 on a two-year international rookie deal.
A report on the club's website read: "Conor McKenna continues to go from strength-to-strength, putting in another sparkling performance. The Irishman booted three crafty goals and looks increasingly more comfortable with the oval shaped ball."
At this rate, the Eglish youngster will be playing in the AFL before long.
