Mayo forward Cillian O'Connor is adamant that they are not concerned by the venue choice for this year's Connacht SFC final against Sligo.

Many eyebrows were raised when the provincial body came out and stated that this year's decider would be played at Dr Hyde Park; a grounds that many felt was not even in the running to host the final.

The Slattery Report revealed that the Roscommon venue was not up to health and safety standard and therefore could not host inter-county games.

However, the Connacht Council have stated that there will be remedial work carried out on the grounds before the final and it, not MacHale Park or Pearse Stadium would host the match.

And O'Connor stressed to the Western People that it made no odds to the Mayo players where the game would be played.

"I know it is an issue, but the players are kind of so caught in our club championship games and our training sessions and our gym sessions that a lot of that stuff goes over our heads," said O'Connor.

"Logistics for us are just given on the week of the game; where to meet, what time to get on the bus, etc. It doesn't really make a whole lot of difference to us. We've all played there before so we know what to expect."
