Team news: Smyth in for Westmeath

June 25, 2015

Meath's Conor McGill with Lorcan Smith Westmeath during the O'Byrne Cup game at Cusack Park.

Lorcan Smyth has been drafted into the Westmeath attack for Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final against Meath at Croke Park.

The Mullingar Shamrocks man replaces Ronan Foley in what is the only change in personnel from the side that started the quarter-final win over Wexford. Smyth is named at top of the right with the versatile Kieran Martin switching to centre back and John Gilligan going to left corner back.

Paddy Holloway moves from corner back to wing back, where is he expected to shackle Meath danger-man Graham Reilly. Paul Sharry moves from number five to midfield with team captain Ger Egan now on the '40' and Ray Connellan switching to the wing.

Callum McCormack wasn't considered due to a hamstring injury.

The Lake County have plenty of experience on the bench in the shape of selector/goalkeeper Gary Connaughton, Kieran Gavin, Francis Boyle, Denis Glennon and Paul Greville.

Westmeath (SF v Meath): Darren Quinn; Killian Daly, Kevin Maguire, John Gilligan; Paddy Holloway, Kieran Martin, James Dolan; Paul Sharry, Darragh Daly; Ray Connellan, Ger Egan, Denis Corroon; Lorcan Smyth, John Heslin, Shane Dempsey.
