American football is coming back to Ireland - but not to Croke Park.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny today confirmed the Aviva Stadium will host a match in September 2016 which was originally scheduled to take place at GAA headquarters.

The powers-that-be in Croke Park decided to shelve the idea of hosting Boston College versus Georgia Tech because of the falling value of the euro against the dollar.

So, instead, the game will be played at The Aviva Stadium on September 3 and it is expected to generate €24m for the Irish economy, according to Mr Kenny.
