Longford forward Brian Kavanagh believes that Dublin should be playing at other venues in the Leinster SFC.

Kavanagh was one of three current Longford players (Dermot Brady and Peter Foy being the other two) to line out against Dublin in Pearse Park in the 2006 Leinster SFC.

The Dubs scraped through by two points (1-12 to 0-13) and Kavanagh admitted to the Longford Leader that he hasn't experienced at atmosphere like it since.

That was the last time that Dublin played outside Croke Park in the championship and Kavanagh would like to see them on the road more, as he prepares to face them in the provincial quarterfinal at GAA headquarters on Sunday.

"I never experienced anything like it," said Kavanagh. "It was a scorching day. The fans were on top of the pitch. It was an amazing feeling. We lost by two points and to get so close was disappointing."

He added: "I'd love to see days like it again in Pearse Park. It's not Dublin's fault either. It has more to do with Leinster Council. We don't have a choice in where we are going to play them.

"We are always delighted to play in Croke Park. There was years we didn't get to play there at all and we're lucky the last few years to get playing there."
