Limerick's Paudie Browne knows that Sunday's Munster SHC tussle with Clare will be a huge game for both sides.

Following poor league campaigns, both sides are looking to progress in the Munster championship and Browne acknowledges the fact that they will have to up their performances from the league, if they are to get through.

"We are very aware of the challenge that is ahead," Browne told the Limerick Leader. "I was impressed with them in the league even though they did get relegated they were very competitive in all their games and have good hurlers all over the field.

"We have our own game plan and our own tactics and we just have to implement them and hope it's good enough on the day - we couldn't have prepared any better.

"We have to have respect for them because they have been there and done it. At the end of the day, we are going to go and have a good cut off them and hope it's good enough at the end of the day."
