Laois cruised to victory following a 3-16 to 0-08 win over Carlow in the Leinster SFC at Netwatch Cullen Park this evening.

The O'Moore County were aided by a strong breeze in the first half and took full advantage of it as they lead by 1-10 to 0-03 with Conor Boyle getting their goal.

In the second half, Carlow could not make use of the wind and goals from Donie Kingston and substitute Tom Shiel saw them cruise to victory.

With the aid of a strong breeze, Laois tagged on early points as wing backs Darren Strong and Colm Begley had the O'Moore County two points up in as many minutes.

That lead was soon doubled as Donie Kingston hit two points in a row and then Conor Boyle got his opening score of the game with a well taken point.

The marauding Strong came forward to kick a second point, before Daniel St Ledger pointed a free to open Carlow's account in the 16th minute.

Laois added another point as the impressive John O'Loughlin score from play, but Carlow hit back with two points of their own with Darragh Foley getting the second of those from a free.

The visitors soon took control as a well worked moved ended with Boyle rounding the keeper and kicking into an empty net.

Laois fired over another three points before the break, the pick of which was a sublime effort from a free by Kingston from the sideline.

Despite, Carlow kicking the first score of the second half, Laois soon took control again as Donie Kingston, Ross Munnelly and Paul Kingston all found the target.

Hayden and St Ledger ('45) pulled two points back to make it 1-13 to 0-06, but Tomas O'Flatharta's troops pushed on with Kingston and Shiel's goals helping to cement a comfortable win.
