Munster MFC: Tipp late, late show breaks the Banner

May 13, 2015

Clare take on Tipperary in the Munster MFC semi final at Semple Stadium. INPHO

Tipperary 0-16
Clare 2-9

Three points in the last three minutes saw Tipperary over the line and finally broke Clare's resistance in this gripping Munster MFC semi-final.

The home side were strong favourites in Thurles but Clare played with little fear and were close to pulling the rug from under Tipperary.

Tipp grabbed the first two points of the game with scores hard to come by before Cormac Murray's goal on the quarter hour put Clare into the lead.

The Premier levelled before a couple of Clare points put them ahead before the sides went in level at the break, 0-6 to 1-3.

Tipperary took the lead on the restart before a second Clare goal, from Keelan Sexton, was followed by two quick fire points which meant five minutes into the half they led by three - 2-5 to 0-8.

Tipp countered with two points but Clare were always able to hit back.

With three minutes left on the clock Clare led by 2-9 to 0-13 but it was then that Tipp found their scoring boots and three successive scores put them through to the provincial decider.
