Today saw the National Hurling League final take place, while the Leinster SHC also got underway.

Cork and Waterford went head to head in the Division One final at Semple Stadium. The sides will meet again in the Munster SHC in three weeks time.

However, thoughts of that were put to one side for just over 70 minutes today as both sides were keen to get their hands on some silverware.

Also down for decision this afternoon were two matches in the Leinster senior hurling championship.

Westmeath entertained Carlow at Cusack Park, while Laois made the long journey to Ballycastle where they faced Antrim.
