Race for Liam and Sam gets underway

May 03, 2015

Laois make the long trip to Ballycastle to take on Antrim in the Leinster SHC.

It may not feel like it - we won't hear the iconic Sunday Game jingle for another fortnight - but the 2015 hurling and football championships commence today.

While most of the focus will be on the Allianz Hurling League final between Cork and Waterford in Thurles, there are also two games down for decision in the Leinster SHC round-robin series.

Westmeath host Carlow in Cusack Park, while Laois make the four-and-a-half hour journey to Ballycastle to take on Antrim. Both games have 3.30pm throw ins.

The Connacht SFC also gets underway in Gaelic Park at 8pm Irish time when New York take on Galway.
