Derry boss Brian McIver is faced with a midfield injury crisis ahead of their Ulster SFC clash against Down.

The Irish News reports that Patsy Bradley, Paudie McGuigan, Mark Craig, Emmett Bradley and PJ McCloskey are all unlikely to make the Celtic Park fixture on Sunday, June 7th.

Slaughtneil pair Patsy Bradley (Achilles) and Paudie McGuigan (groin) have failed to report for county duty ever since the All-Ireland Club SFC final defeat to Corofin.

"Patsy hasn't been back with us," McIver remarked. "We had given him four to five weeks off to let him recover from the problem he was having with his Achilles in the lead up to the All-Ireland final. He hasn't been back with us since.

"Paudie is waiting for an operation and he is unavailable to us at the moment."

On a more positive note, the experienced Fergal Doherty played for Bellaghy against Coleraine last Sunday.

"Fergal has been playing at club level and training with us. As far as I know he didn't finish the game against Coleraine at the weekend. Hopefully, it was nothing serious. He hasn't been in contact with me which would suggest it is not a major issue.

"He is back in training and going well."
