Should the GAA be worried?
The attendance at the Allianz Football League Division 1 and 2 finals was over 7,000 less than last year when the GAAs big crowd-pullers Dublin were also involved.
31,548 filed through the Croke Park turnstiles this afternoon, compared to 38,841 12 months ago when the Dubs beat Derry in the Division 1 final and Monaghan defeated Donegal in the Division 2 decider.
When Dublin won the first of their three-in-a-row of Division 1 titles in 2013 at Tyrones expense, the attendance was 33,134.The last Allianz League final not to involve the Dubs in 2012 (Cork v Mayo) attracted a crowd of just 22,827 to GAA headquarters.
