Donegal manager Rory Gallagher is pleased with the progress his side is making ahead of their Ulster SFC clash against Tyrone on May 17th.

Gallagher revealed to the Donegal Democrat that the squad are still going through some heavy training in preparation for the start of the provincial campaign.

"We've had a few heavy sessions over the last few weeks and we have a few more before we turn to speed work and more ball work," said Gallagher.

At the moment, Martin McElhinney is one of only three players with niggling injuries, but Gallagher stressed that the injury is not thought to be serious.

"Martin suffered a groin strain in training last Tuesday night, but we expect to have him back training in the next week to ten days," said Gallagher.

"Stephen Griffin got a knock on the knee, but it is not too serious and Darach O'Connor is still struggling to shake off a knee injury. But other than that we are in good shape and hopefully we pick up no more knocks between now and the game."
