Cork's Colm O'Driscoll is angry that his brother Brian will miss Sunday's national football league final against Dublin.

The Rebels' defender is unavailable after sustaining an injury lining out for Carbery Rangers in the Cork SFC last Tuesday - just two days after the league semi-final win over Donegal.

"They'd be talking about player burnout and this kind of stuff," Colm comments in The Irish Independent. "A fella having to go play a championship match on a Tuesday after playing an important Allianz semi-final against a top side on the Sunday. I think it's too much for a fella.

"When you've got a player of that quality, every team wants him on their side which is fair enough. I think fellas have got to get a break and take a bit of time in between games.

"It's important for the players as well. After all the training, you want to play to the best of your ability. If you're playing a championship game two days later, you can't do that in my opinion. You just can't be mentally fresh. The body has got to be fresh as well.

"You've got to give players a chance and it gives people a chance to see good players play their best."
