Conor O'Sullivan has opted out of the Cork senior hurling squad for the foreseeable future.

The Sarsfields defender played no part in Sunday's dramatic national hurling league semi-final victory over Dublin but had featured in many of the Rebels' other league matches earlier this year.

O'Sullivan voluntarily joins his clubmate Cian McCarthy in intercounty exile, the latter having dropped out last month as he felt he couldn't make the required commitment.

The Leesiders are in fine fettle as they prepare to face neighbours Waterford in the league decider on May 3rd but the loss of players is always a concern to any team at any time of year.
