The Kerry team to face Clare in Wednesday's Munster MFC opener includes just one member of the side that defeated Donegal in last year's All-Ireland final.

Dingle clubman Mark O'Connor will captain the team from midfield, while last year's panellists Jason Foley and Stephen O'Sullivan are named at full back and corner forward respectively. Adam Barry, who was centre back last season, is unavailable due to injury.

O'Connor is one of three players from the PS Chorca Dhuibhne team that retained the Hogan Cup at Croke Park yesterday, with Tom O'Sullivan and Conor Geaney being selected at corner back and corner forward by manager Jack O'Connor.

Kerry (MF v Clare): Billy Courtney; Darren Brosnan, Jason Foley, Tom O'Sullivan; Gavin White, Mike Breen, Daniel O'Brien; Mark O'Connor (captain), John Mark Foley; Brian O Seanachain, Bryan Sweeney, Sean O'Shea; Stephen O'Sullivan, Cormac Linnane, Conor Geaney.
