Tipperary's John McGrath will be sidelined for up to six weeks.
The Loughmore-Castleiney clubman will definitely miss the Premier County national hurling league semi-final against Waterford at Nowlan Park on Sunday week and would also play no part in a potential final meeting with Cork or Dublin a fortnight later.
McGrath, younger brother of Noel, has been advised to rest a pelvic injury and the dual star will also be unavailable for Tipperary's Munster U21 FC final clash with Cork on Thursday night.
He impressed for Tipp in their league games against Galway and Clare and came on as a substitute against Kilkenny before sitting out the Cork and Offaly matches.
