Colm Cooper made his long-awaited return to the Kerry colours as a second half substitute in their 1-14 to 0-17 draw with Tyrone this afternoon.

Introduced with 10 minutes remaining for what was his first appearance for the Kingdom since their 2013 All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Dublin, the 'Gooch' set up Kieran Donaghy for a late point before Darren McCurry landed a late equaliser for the Red Hands, who needed to win to preserve their Division 1 status.

Cooper, who has been out of action since sustaining a cruciate ligament injury whilst playing for Dr Crokes against Castlebar Mitchels in the All-Ireland club semi-final 14 months ago, will be expected to play a greater role when Kerry begin the defence of their provincial and All-Ireland titles against either Tipperary or Waterford in this summer's Munster SFC semi-final.

Paul Galvin, who recently came out of retirement, was an unused substitute against the Red Hands.
