Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has sent words of encouragement to Cork dual player Jamie Wall who is currently recovering from an illness that has left him unable to walk.

A member of the Cork team that contested the 2013 All-Ireland U-21 football final, the Kilbrittain youngster's fledgling gaelic football and hurling career came to an abrupt end last summer when he was diagnosed with an epidural abscess on the spine which has since left him paralysed from the waist down.

Determined that he will walk again, Wall has undergone months of rehabilitation and his story has obviously touched the English Premier League star who yesterday tweeted him a message of support.
