Kerry 1-9

Holders Cork booked their place in this year's Munster U21 final courtesy of a hard earned victory over arch rivals Kerry in Pairc Ui Rinn tonight.

Sean Hayes' side, who struggled over Limerick last week, were quick out of the traps and raced into a 1-2 to 0-0 lead after just seven minutes thanks to Sean O'Donoghue's goal.

Jack Savage opened the Kingdom's account in the 12th minute but three minutes later Savage's participation was brought to a premature end after he was shown a black card following a foul on Kevin Crowley.

The signs looked ominous for Darragh O Se's charges at that stage but then, and very much against the run of play, Conor Keane netted them a lifeline of a goal and they trailed by 1-2 to 0-4 at the change of ends.

The second half exchanges were evenly contested but points from Sean White and Conor Horgan eased the Rebels into a 1-10 to 1-8 lead with 10 minutes left on the clock and the team in red and white finished with a flourish.

Points from captain Brian O'Driscoll and Conor Horgan secured their place in the provincial decider where they will face Tipperary who got the better of Clare on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-7 tonight.
