Donegal will jet out to Dubai on Friday for their team holiday and new manager Rory Gallagher - who won't be travelling - expects the travelling party to fit some training sessions into their schedule.

The holiday is a reward for last year's Ulster SFC title success and Donegal's achievement in reaching the All-Ireland final. It was due to take place immediately after Christmas, but was postponed because of goalkeeper Paul Durcan's wedding.

"The boys are heading to Dubai on Friday for five or six nights," Gallagher explained after Donegal's defeat to Dublin on Saturday night.

"We'll still step up the training, that was always the plan. I'm sure they'll do a few sessions themselves out in Dubai.

"I think there are 15 or 16 additions to our panel this year, so there will be boys here (at home). We'll be training away when the boys are off."
