Longford manager Jack Sheedy believes that promotion race is Division Four is wide open.

The Midlanders begin their campaign with an away clash against Leitrim on Sunday afternoon and they will be hoping to get off to the perfect start.

Nonetheless, Sheedy is expecting every game to be a tight affair as he feels that the majority of teams in the division will have designs on gaining promotion.

Speaking to the Longford Leader he said: "There is no doubting everyone in Division Four will have aspirations of getting promoted and we are certainly no different.

"There's no doubting it will be a very difficult task and it will be a tough battle going up to Park Sean, but we will be going up there to get two points."
