Tommy Walsh is expected to feature for Kerry in next Sunday's Allianz Football League opener against Mayo after making his return to competitive GAA action on Saturday night.

The former Young Footballer of the Year played his first Gaelic football match since returning from a five-year spell in Aussie Rules when lining out for his club Kerins O'Rahilly's against Austin Stacks in the Tralee board SFC final at Austin Stack Park.

Walsh partnered his brother Sean at midfield as O'Rahilly's succumbed to the Kerry and Munster club champions on a 1-9 to 1-14 scoreline.

The 2009 All-Ireland winner was rested for Kerry's only competitive outing so far this year, which came against IT Tralee in the McGrath Cup.
