UCC 2-23
Kerry 2-14

Despite the recent recruitment of All-Ireland winners Patrick Kelly and James Logue, Kerry were no match for a talented UCC outfit in today's clash at Austin Stack Park.

Kelly - who was a member of Clare's 2013 Liam McCarthy Cup winning squad - debuted at centre-back for the Kingdom while Tipperary minor, U21 and intermediate All-Ireland winner Logue was named to start between the posts but was replaced by Stephen Murphy before the throw-in.

Murphy kept a clean sheet during the opening 35 minutes but Eamon Kelly's charges trailed the students by 0-6 to 0-12 at the change of ends.

The hosts were boosted by second-half goals from Padraig Boyle and Adrian Royle but a 49th minute Brian Hartnett goal restored UCC's supremacy.

Substitute Shane O'Keeffe netted a second three minutes from time to add the gloss to UCC's victory.
